Pushing Neurological Care Forward
Every medical breakthrough is made possible by years of clinical research and trials. Getting care at the AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute means access to the latest trials, research programs and studies in the region. Our neurology research and trials unlock discoveries, investigate theories and refine approaches we can bring to the bedside.
- InfuseBone Graft Trial
-
In collaboration with Medtronic, we’re investigating a novel method of performing lumbar spinal fusion with the hope of decreasing discomfort and hastening recovery, as compared with traditional lumbar spine surgery. This clinical trial is approved by, and under the guidance of, the FDA and involves specially selected spine surgeons from across the country.
- Putting Your Safety First
-
Your health and safety are always our highest priorities, whether you’re here for an annual wellness exam or taking part in an exciting and groundbreaking clinical study.
Our research follows the highest safety standards and federal regulations, and each trial is overseen by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), which is composed of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, scientists, ethicists and local community members.
Our Board ensures the integrity of clinical trials, including an ethical approach and safety precautions to protect each clinical trial participant. Our research is conducted under standards of Good Clinical Practice provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
- Is Participating in Research Right for You?
-
Deciding to participate in a research project — whether it’s a clinical trial for a new medication or an innovative surgical procedure — is a decision that only you can make. But you’ll have a whole team behind you to answer your questions, provide you with resources and empower you to make an informed decision.
Participating in research is completely voluntary and can provide many wonderful benefits, both to you and to others who find themselves on a similar journey. Studies look at many different aspects of neurology care, including:
- Discovering a better treatment for your condition
- Discovering a cure for other people who are sick
- Improving care, including how it’s delivered and how you are supported during treatments
If you decide to participate in a trial, it’s important to know that trials only include treatments that meet or exceed today’s standard of care for your neurological condition. While research can provide hope and healing to some, no one can predict the outcome of a particular study or how it might affect you. The study may not help you directly, but it will inform the care of others.
